Target is Recalling Easter Egg Toy– Don’t Let Your Kids EAT This!!!

Target is recalling their water-absorbing egg and dino toys just before Easter Sunday.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, about 560,000 of the toys were sold under the names including Hatch & Grow Easter Eggs, Easter Grow Toys and Hatch Your Own Dino, the report said. The Hatch & Grow Easter Eggs and Easter Grow The model number 234-25-1200.

The CPSC says, “If the small toy is ingested, it can expand inside a child’s body and cause intestinal obstructions, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and could be life threatening. Surgery is required to remove the toy from the body, if ingested. Medical professionals and parents should be aware that there is a possibility that the toys might not show up on an x-ray.”

KELSEA BALLERINI

Kelsea Ballerini might be young, but she knows how to handle her finances. Since her career took off, she hasn’t really had any major purchases, except for one: a pair of expensive heels.

She spilled the dirt on the extravagant purchase, saying, “I’ve always wanted a pair of Christian Louboutin stilettos. I grew up seeing them in movies. I told myself if ‘Peter Pan’ went number-one, I was going to get them. And then I was in New York, and I put them on my feet, and they were very expensive, and I didn’t get them. I said ‘OK, Kelsea. If you win CMA Best New Artist, you’re getting these shoes. I lost. The next day I went and got them.” (GQ)

BRETT ELDREDGE

Brett Eldredge has spent the past few months touring with Luke Bryan, and next month, he will be hitting the road again to open on the Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day tour. So, what’s it like to tour with Luke?

Brett Eldredge talks about touring with Luke Bryan. “I have never had an experience like this with a tour where there is no pressure. That’s the thing. It feels like… It’s so comfortable backstage. It’s almost so relaxing that you’re like, ‘Am I working right now?’ because it’s so… it feels kinda like a summer camp or something.”

Accident Involving School Bus On I-270

A three vehicle crash happened on I-270 yesterday in Urbana.  One of the vehicles involved was a Frederick County School bus. Thankfully no one was seriously injured.

School officials say buses are a safe mode of transportation for kids.  Do you agree?

Urbana, Md (KM) A three-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 270 in Urbana closed the highway for a few hours Wednesday afternoon.  One of the vehicles involved was a school bus.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says a Jeep Cherokee traveling south on I-270 near Route 80 clipped a box truck, which caused the Cherokee to  spin and strike the school bus.  The bus went off the road and struck a guardrail.  Deputies say the bus did not overturn, but was hanging precariously over a hill.

“Fortunately, it doesn’t look there were  any serious injuries,”  says School System spokesman Michael Doerrer.  “We had three people aboard the bus.  Two adults:  one was the driver and one was a bus assistant; and we had one student aboard the bus.”

The Sheriff’s Office says the driver and the student were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital as a precaution.  The bus assistant refused treatment.  The driver of the bus is identified as Tresa Bradshaw, 60, of Adamstown. The adult passenger  was Sharon Murphy, 57, also of Adamstown.  The student’s  name is not being released.

The crash closed all southbound lanes of I-270 near  Route 80 for a few hours Wednesday afternoon.   Authorities say I-270 has reopened.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this crash because it involves a school bus.  The agency cited the driver of the Cherokee, Janet Hargett, 73, of Brunswick, with making an unsafe lane change.  Deputies say Hargett was traveling in the left lane and attempted to make a move to the right lane, striking the front of the box truck operated by Konstantinos Kalpouzanis, 32, of York, Pennsylvania. Investigators say Hargett was trying to get to the exit ramp from I-270 to Route 80.

Debris from the crash struck and damaged  a Chevrolet MPV operated by Kristopher Willlard, 28, of Frederick.

Doerrer says it’s not unusual for a school bus to transport a small number of students on one trip.  “We transport individual students for various  reasons throughout the day,” he says.  “We have students  who need to get to and from programs  and events. We generally run a bus. And that happens regularly. It’s not unusual.”

Despite this crash, Doerrer says the school buses are safe.  “Putting your child on the bus to and from school or to go to field trips or anywhere else is the safest way to travel down the road.  Our drivers are skilled professional drivers who know exactly what they’re doing,” he says.

The State Highway Administration repaired the guardrail which was  damaged during the crash.

I called Oregon about Rick Monroe

During my interview with Rick Monroe we talked about the fact that he had never been to Oregon. That factoid got stuck in my brain. It was a fun thing to point out and I thought it would be even more fun to reach out to Travel Oregon about this very topic. I only played a short clip of this call on the air. Here is the full call with more info about Oregon and a small chat about Hobby Horsing.

Have Fun!

KELSEA BALLERINI

Kelsea Ballerini always tries to stick to a healthy diet while she’s out on the road, but there’s one treat she can’t stay away from: chicken nuggets.

She shared her secret in a recent interview, saying, “I live for Chick-fil-A after the show. I eat healthy 99 percent of the time, just so I can eat nuggets when I get offstage.” (Knoxville News Sentinel)

LITTLE BIG TOWN

Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman prides herself on her skills in the kitchen, and her daughter seems to be following in her mom’s footsteps.

Kimberly talked about her daughter’s cooking abilities during a recent interview, saying, “Daisy’s been cooking since she could hardly stand up. She started on a stool by the counter just like I did. She used to put way too much baking soda in everything and it was wretched. But my husband would always eat it. Sometimes I would have to fake it.” (People)

Now Kimberly says Daisy makes her own recipes, and they’re actually pretty tasty!
BRAD PAISLEY

Brad Paisley is known for his hilarious songs, so it’s no surprise that he tries to be as funny as possible around his two boys. Unfortunately, he totally embarrasses them in the process.

Brad Paisley talks about embarrassing his boys. “I’m always embarrassing them. My wife gets so mad at me because I push the limits of decency as a father, in that sense.”

Nightmare Commute On I-270

I-270 was at a stand still yesterday in Frederick.

Frederick, Md (KM) One person was medivaced to Shock Trauma in Baltimore following a four-vehicle crash in Frederick County Tuesday afternoon.

State Police say a preliminary investigation reveals at around 1:30, a Ford Mustang and a Dodge minivan were traveling south on Interstate 270 near Route 85 when they were struck by dump truck.

After the collision, the dump truck and minivan traveled into the northbound lanes of I-270. The dump truck overturned and struck a Toyota Prius which was traveling north on I-270.

The operator of the minivan was flown out; three other drivers were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.

State Police are investigating.

That section of I-270 was closed for a few hours while the damaged vehicles were being  removed, but the CHART website from the Maryland Department of Transportation says  north and southbound lanes are open to traffic.
