Today is Oreo Cookie Day & Dentists Day – Seriously!
So today is an oxymoron! It’s Oreo Cookie Day & Dentist Day! A chance to eats lots of your favorite treats and then head to the dentist.
On March 6, 1912, the first Oreo was sold to a grocer in Hoboken, New Jersey. Since that time, more than 345 billion Oreo cookies have been consumed. We eat more than 7.5 billion Oreo cookies every year. When you break down the numbers further – that’s 625 Oreos million a month and 20.5 million every day.
Today we are also observing ‘National Dentist’s Day’. This day is a chance for you to say “Thank You” and show appreciation to your dentist.
After eating all those Oreos – how could you NOT appreciate to your dentist!

I am 90% writing about this because of the headline. The last 10% is just for the mental image. It turns out that Las Vegas is struggling with a booming bunny population. Close your eyes. Think of all the glitz and glam of Vegas. Got it? Now cover it in bunnies.
Jokes aside it is a real issue that I bet a few WFRE listeners could figure out how to solve!
National Un-Plug Day – A Parent’s Dream:)
This day is a parent’s dream come true. It’s ‘National Un-Plug Day’ where we are encouraged to detach ourselves from electronic devices.
Of course this day makes me very happy because I feel my kids are on their electronic devices WAY TOO much. They are constantly checking Instagram and snap chatting their friends. But am I any better with electronic devices? Possibly no – I am writing this blog on my cell phone!
The first Friday in March of each year is National Day of Unplugging. A day where everyone gets a chance to re-boot!
For 24 hours we are encouraged to unplug, unwind, relax and do things other than using today’s technology, electronics and social media. Also use #DayOfUnplugging to post on social media before you unplug.
I will try hard to unplug today – after I check my work email, facebook messages, instagram, and twitter. This may be harder than I think:)

It’s no surprise that the soon-to-open Madam Tussaud’s [pr: too-SO’s] Wax Museum in Nashville is chock-full of figures of country stars. Among them is a figure of Blake Shelton which was recently unveiled on The Today Show.
MIRANDA LAMBERT: You've Gotta Be Kitten Me
It’s a big deal to bring an animal into a relationship. So, Miranda Lambert and Anderson East must be pretty happy with each other, considering they just adopted not one, but three new cats. Miranda took to social media to share photos of their new family members, sharing their hilarious names — Bobbi McGee, Nick Saban and Bear Bryant.
She’s definitely an Alabama fan.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Silly Son Stories
Carrie Underwood’s son Isaiah turned two on Monday, and he already has the best personality. With a hockey star dad and a country star mom, you would think Isaiah would end up with a career in music or sports, but he may wind up in comedy.
Carrie opened up about her son’s silliness, saying, “He is a bit of a ham, and he knows it. He knows when he’s being funny. And I’ll start laughing at something, and he’ll keep doing it… I laugh all day, every day.” (People)
LUKE BRYAN, DIERKS BENTLEY: ACM Wardrobe Malfunction Plans
The Oscars have been a huge topic of conversation after the wrong winner was announced for the biggest award of the night. Although Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley hope they don’t have their own Oscars moment during the ACM Awards next month, they do have a hilarious plan set up, just in case something goes wrong.
Dierks referred to the Oscars moment in a recent interview, saying “We’re thinking if our show’s not going well, if we’re doing a bad job hosting or something, at the end of the show, we’re just gonna do something like that, so that everyone talks about that, not how bad we were as hosts. We have a plan. Luke’s pants and a wardrobe malfunction.” (Tennessean)
Dierks also told Luke to make sure he wears underwear that night.
National Read Across America Day
Today we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of National Read Across America Day, and it is also the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
Thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers will be encouraging kids, teens, and parents to get involved and read a book!
This is reportedly the largest reading celebration in the country and education officials expect more than 45 million readers of all ages to pick up a book today and read!

JASON ALDEAN: Surprise Birthday Trip
Yesterday, Jason Aldean celebrated his 40th birthday, and his wife Brittany made sure it was this best yet. On Monday, she surprised him with a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where the two are spending a few days in the snow with about 20 of their closest friends.
The happy couple has shared a few photos from their trip on Instagram, and it looks like they’re having a ton of fun.
GRANGER SMITH: Avoiding "Bathroom Moments"
When Granger Smith is picking out songs for his new record, he rarely tests them out at shows. He’d rather play the songs his fans already know and love.
Granger Smith: “For whatever reason, I’ve never been a play-it-for-the-crowd type guy, until I know it’s gonna be on the album. Because I don’t wanna create what I call a ‘bathroom moment,’ where they’re like, ‘Well, I’m gonna go to the bathroom.’ So, sometimes I’ll just run through the songs in the gym, and you can tell quickly the songs you start getting tired of. That’s a good test for me.”
TIM McGRAW: Happy Wife, Happy Life
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will kick off their Soul 2 Soul tour next month. Having toured with her several times, Tim knows exactly what he needs to do to make sure Faith stays happy out on the road. He shared his secret during a recent visit to Good Morning America, saying, “I just do what she says.”

BRETT YOUNG: Chats About His Tats
Brett Young has several tattoos, but there’s one, in particular that was inspired by one of his favorite poets on Instagram. You can spot this tattoo on his right forearm, which reads, “If it feels like home, follow its path.”
Brett Young: “So there is a poet on Instagram he’s R.M. Drake, and I’ve followed him for a really long time. And I paraphrased one of his poems. What it means to me is trust your instincts, follow your dreams, don’t let anybody tell you no. The bottom line is, if it’s the only thing that’s going to make you happy, you shouldn’t let anybody or anything convince you otherwise.”
