MAREN MORRIS

A few days ago, Maren Morris decided to snip off her luscious locks, debuting her new ‘do on social media. Though it seemed like a sudden change, it turns out she’d planned this chop two or three months ago.

She chatted about her new hair style on the ACM Awards red carpet, saying, “I didn’t want to cut it on a whim… It was just time for a change. I just love when girls rock short hair because they can’t hide behind anything. I feel more empowered with short hair.”

You can check out Maren’s new look this summer when she hits the road with Sam Hunt. They’ll be at Jiffy Lube Live September 16th! (People)

BRANTLEY GILBERT

Brantley Gilbert is on the road for The Devil Don’t Sleep tour. When he’s not performing in front of thousands, there’s one place you’re guaranteed to find him — on his tour bus.

Brantley Gilbert talks about being a bus body. “Anybody that’s been on the road with me will tell you I’m a bus body. You know, you’ve got home bodies, I’m a bus body and I spend a lot of time on my bus. For our shows to be as chaotic as they are, I have to be responsible for a lot of that mayhem, and for that to happen I’ve got to have some time during the day just to be still.”

BRETT ELDREDGE

As one of country music’s hottest bachelors, Brett Eldredge is constantly asked why he’s still single. Although he has spent the past few years focused on his career, he’s finally ready to find that special someone and settle down. So, what exactly is he looking for?

Brett Eldredge talks about his love interest. “They’ve gotta have a sense of humor, or at least be able to laugh at my sense of humor. They don’t have to think it’s funny. They can totally poke fun at me for being an idiot sometimes. But I just want somebody that just loves to live for every day, and every day’s a new journey that you can go down, and somebody that will go down that journey with me. I’m always looking for her. I’m always thinking about her, as if she’s already here. But I’m waiting. I’m ready.”

It’s National Tell a Lie Day!

Today is ‘National Tell A Lie Day’.  How do we celebrate this day?

Dictionary.com defines a lie as a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.

As a parent, I tell my kids telling a lie is not a good thing, unless it s ‘white’ lie.  A good example of that is telling their aunt they ‘liked’ the matching green sweaters they received for Christmas.  It’s just a fib to avoid hurt feelings.  But health experts say lies tax your brain, cause stress, and harm your body

Have fun celebrating this holiday.  That’s not a lie:)

52nd Annual ACM Awards Recap!

For the second year in a row, Jason Aldean nabbed the coveted Entertainer of the Year award at the 52nd annual ACM Awards on Sunday night.

It was also a big night for Thomas Rhett, who managed a clean sweep. He took home three trophies, including Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Die a Happy Man,” which scored him two awards as both an artist and songwriter.

Miranda Lambert held onto her Female Vocalist of the Year title for the eighth year in a row, continuing to hold the record for most wins in this category. She also nabbed the Album of the Year award for The Weight of These Wings.

Along with the previously announced New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year award, Brothers Osborne was also named this year’s Vocal Duo of the Year, ending Florida Georgia Line’s three-year run with the award.

  • She is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year.

Carrie Underwood talks about her ACM nomination. “We’ve been just putting together just the best tours, and worked so hard for a long time and you know I’m specially proud of the Storyteller tour I’m just beyond excited, and I’m humbled, and thankful for that nomination. It’s incredible.”

Brian – “That’s the one.”

Tyler – “It feels great, I mean it’s very humbling. You look at the rest of the nominees and it’s just mind blowing that we’re in that category with those artists and it’s motivating as well. I think it’s gonna be a big night for us, but even if we don’t take that one home it’s still motivating, regardless.”

Jason Aldean

  • He is the reigning Entertainer of the Year.
  • Jason has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year six times, but has only won once.
  • Jason kicks off his They Don’t Know tour at the end of April.

Jason Aldean talks about EOTY Award. “This is the award to me that, I mean, obviously it’s the biggest one. It’s at the end of the night. It’s the one everybody wants. And to me, this award has always been a touring award. So, I’ve built my career largely on that. I take a lot of pride in going out and performing for people, making my live show what it’s been.”

Keith Urban

  • Keith is up for the most awards this year, with six nominations.
  • Keith has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year seven times, but he has yet to win.
  • The last time Keith was nominated for this award was back in 2011.

Keith Urban talks Entertainer of the Year nomination. “I’ve always loved putting on concerts and tours and shows and really trying to put on something that’s incredibly entertaining and engaging, so I probably obsess about that part of what I do equal to making records, for sure. So, to get that nomination, along with the Album at this point, is extraordinary.”

Luke Bryan

  • This is Luke’s only ACM nomination this year.
  • Luke has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year five times.
  • Luke heads out on his Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day tour this summer.

Luke Bryan talks Entertainer of the Year nomination. “My focus in life when I’m on stage is entertaining these fans. If it’s my smile and my demeanor, if it’s my song that does it, if it’s me picking up a child out of the audience and letting them sing, I want people to leave my shows and go, ‘You know what? Whoever’s voting him Entertainer of the Year, they got it right.’”

Gettin’ Crafty!

have always loved doing crafts, not that i’m always very good at them, but I do enjoy it! My fiance, Tim, IS good at crafts and anything handy…so I asked him to help me make some things for our wedding this weekend. Thank goodness I did, because they would have turned out horribly without his help! (he did most the work) 🙂

It’s always fun to see the personal touches at weddings, and the little details. That is one of my favorite parts about going to a wedding, all the little details. I know a lot of people say, don’t worry about the little things, people won’t notice it blah blah….well I do, and I hope other people notice the hard work that we put into the handmade things that we will have on tables and decor that is used to bring the entire theme together!

This weekend we spent the entire weekend working on our table numbers and floating hurricane candles. The floating candles are beautiful just sitting around already, but I saw something I loved on Pinterest, so I ordered the materials (picture above) and decided to make things harder on myself than they had to be… for the sake of something super cute…totally worth it 😉

The table numbers are very simple looking. We got boards from home depot, and Tim cut them into little 5in.x5in. square blocks. Then we sanded, cleaned and stained them all a pretty dark walnut color. Once they were dry, we got number stencils from Michaels and white paint pens and drew on all the numbers for 23 tables on each block. Time consuming, but not too bad.

For the floating candles, I plan on sitting them around the wedding on the gift tables and bars. Above there is a picture of the jute twine and pearl garland that I used. These are definitely tougher than I thought they would be. We have three different height sizes for the glass candle holders and wrapped the jute around each one, used a hot glue gun to hold down the twine, and then wrapped the garland in a pretty design over top. Just adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to the floating candles. Now we just need to hope the hot glue stays stuck to the glass and doesn’t pop off.

Definitely more crafts to come once we get all of the candles finished. Of course, the cute little signs and chalk boards. Thankfully, my friend and maid-of-honor have amazing calligraphy skills and I can pass off some of those to them! Then, as we get closer to the date, I am going to make the “Find Your Seat” sign…its going to be a huge wooden board…to match the little wooden table number blocks. So here’s to hoping everything turns out as cute as I picture it in my head!
