{Katie’s Kitchen} Yummy Pepper Steak!

Is it weird I’ve never made pepper steak before? I feel like it is a traditional favorite for so many families, so I decided to give it a try!

Super quick and easy and TALK.ABOUT.DELICIOUS!!

This is a dish that my husband has requested to have in the regular rotation!

You can use about 1 1/2 lbs of Sirloin or bottom round steak…we got 2 lbs so we could have left overs the next day 🙂

In total, this dish prob took about 30 mins. including the prep (unless you want to marinate the steak longer).

First, start cooking your rice, if you’re going to serve the dish over rice. Then, slice the steak into 1/4 in. slices (cut those in half if you want) and toss in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and let that sit for a min (or longer).

Chop your peppers and onion into 1 in. pieces and set aside.

Heat up a large skillet very hot with vegetable oil and add in the steak in one layer, until all of the steak is cooked. It does cook fast and you don’t want it to be overdone, so just saute until its nicely brown on both sides.

Take the steak and place it on a plate off to the side…keep the juices in the pan and pour over top!

Add more vegetable oil, saute some minced garlic, and then add in your veggies to cook for about 5 mins.

Off to the side, mix your sauce! 1 packet (I added an additional half packet because I used more steak), ground ginger, soy sauce, pepper and a cup of cold water.

Once your peppers and onions are done, then add the steak back into the pan and pour the sauce over everything.

Cook and stir until the sauce is thick and the peppers are soft and you’re done!

Add some rice to your bowl and pour the delicious pepper steak right over top 🙂

{Tom’s Take} The Man Behind the Mouse

The pioneer of Disney Animation, the builder, the inventor of the animatronics at the original Disney Land.

From Steamboat Willy in 1928 to a special effects Oscar for Mary Poppins in 1965, Ub Iwerks was Walt Disney’s right hand man and creative force behind the happiest place on earth.

Iwerks invented Mickey Mouse and drew the mouse for the first time.  It was the beginning of the MEGA entertainment empire that is all things Disney. His designs are still used today at all Disney theme parks.
