I Had The Best Mother’s Day….

My Mother’s Day was full of wonderful surprises and I have to thank my kiddo’s for making it the best day EVER. My daughter who usually suffers from anxiety when she gets anywhere near the kitchen (Wink) planned and executed the most amazing breakfast. She shopped, prepped and accomplished the biggest surprise of the day.

Chocolate covered strawberries and a french toast casserole with cream cheese. (She knows her mother too well!!) Then she brought me to tears with her gifts….

Then the front door opened up and Davey and Autumn stopped by….

I got to spend time with my mom eating steamed crabs and I ended my day with a conversation with my oldest in Oregon. My heart is full!!!!!!

Whenever bad storms roll through, some people like to get together and wait out the storm with a party. So, what would Luke Combs stock his shelves with, if he were to throw an actual “Hurricane” party?

“A good deal of beer and liquor, for sure, probably. If the power’s gonna be out, and you’re gonna get drunk, you might as well have the right ammo, I guess, you know? But yeah, that would probably be it, and as long as I’ve got some way to play music, I’d be alright. I think could do fine with just music and a bottle of Jack Daniels.”

Will Katy Perry Be An American Idol Judge?!

Katy Perry is the latest big-name singer who American Idol producers are trying land as a judge.

According to TMZ, Idol execs “set their sights” on Katy after their bid for Kelly Clarkson “went south and she joined The Voice.”

Sources says the producers are negotiating a deal for Katy to become the anchor judge and are expected to announce she’s joining the ABC reboot this week.

A decision about the other two judges hasn’t been made yet.

For the second year in a row, Miss District of Columbia wins the Miss USA title!

Kara McCullough, a chemist working for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, was crowned Sunday during the pageant in Las Vegas. She will go on to compete on the Miss Universe contest.

Deshauna Barber last year became the first-ever military member to win Miss USA.

Which American Idol Former Judge Said ‘No’ to the Reboot?!

American Idol is making a come back on ABC and they’re actively searching for the new judges and host for the show…

Simon Cowell declined an invitation to judge ABC’s reboot of American Idol.

He told Extra TV, (quote) “I was asked to do it. The answer is no. My memories are when we first started — Randy, Ryan and Paula. You can’t re-create that.”

Naturally, ABC would like to re-create Idol’s heyday of 30 million viewers per night. That’s one reason why ABC is deep in talks with Ryan Seacrest to return as host.

Now all they have to do is locate Randy Jackson. You know Paula Abdul is sitting by her phone, checking it every couple of minutes, waiting for her invite.

The official start of summer is almost here. Families are gearing up for their summer vacations, many to beach locations. Now we are learning about Great White Sharks spotted along the California coast.

National Military Spouse Appreciation Day

It’s been called the hardest job in the military- being a military spouse. Today we say thank you to those who are married to members of the Armed Forces during Military Spouse Appreciation Day.

Military spouses are the silent heroes who support our troops during their missions and deployments.

They take care of the children and household, while their loved one is fighting for freedom all over the world.

I was a military spouse for a long time. My husband retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. Saying goodbye before deployments was extremely hard. Like many other military families, my husband missed the birth of children, holidays, and birthdays.

Even though my husband was on the other side of the world for many milestones, he was NEVER away from our hearts.

God Bless our Military and everyone who supports them – especially their spouses!
