SCHOOLS

Frederick County Public Schools – two hour delay

Washington County Schools – Pleasant Valley and Sharpsburg Elementary will be open.   Check the website for information regarding bus transportation and alternative pick up locations.

St. John’s Catholic Prep High School – 2 hour delay.

Jefferson County Public Schools- have transportation changes. Check the website for updates.

Maryland School for the Deaf- two hour delay

Daybreak Adult Services – Will open at 8, buses on a one hour delay.

American Legion (Francis Scott Key Post #11) – The annual Memorial Day Flag placement at Mt. Olivet scheduled for May 19th @ 8:00 a.m. has been postponed and has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 26th @ Mt. Olivet – 8:00 a.m.

Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company– Bingo is cancelled for Friday, May 18th

Heartly House– Affairs of the Heart Gala for Friday, May 18th @ 5:00 p.m. has been postponed.

Lewistown Ruritan- Chicken BBQ cancelled for this Sunday, May 20th

{Katie’s Kitchen} Mini Fruit Pizza Cookies

Mother’s day is this weekend and every Mom deserves a treat! My mini fruit pizzas are the perfect sweet cookie that looks good and is quick to bake so you can take them to share at a party…or eat them all for yourself!

I made the quick version with the Pillsbury pull apart sugar cookies and baked them first according to the directions on the back. I normally try to cook them for the lesser time that the package suggests.

Once the cookies are done. Let them cool entirely.

Mix up your toppings…

6 oz. cream cheese (softened), 1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 3/4 cup of Cool Whip whipped topping. The easiest way to mix it is to put it in a mixer so you don’t get chunks of cream cheese bites.

Then, chop up your fruits. Any fruit you want! I used strawberries, raspberries and blueberries! Yum!

Take a spoon or spreader and spread evenly a layer of your topping on top of your cookies. Finally, top with the fruit! As much and however you want it to look…it all taste AMAZING!

Ingredients:

-Homemade sugar cookie recipe OR Pillsbury sugar cookies

-6 oz. cream cheese softened

-1/4 cup powdered sugar

-1 3/4 cup of Cool Whip Whipped Topping

-Your choice of fruit! (I used strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
