About Travis Denning:

A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mercury Nashville’s Travis Denning vividly remembers the moment he realized he wanted to pursue music for a living. He was seven years old sitting in his Dad’s truck and heard AC/DC for the first time. From then on, he was hooked and devoured all types of music from country, pop, rock and heavy metal. Travis started playing local bars at the age of 16 and built a solid following from his distinctive songs and raucous guitar licks. He moved to Nashville in 2014 and within a year signed a publishing deal with Jeremy Stover’s RED Creative Group. After securing outside cuts by Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray, and Chase Rice he caught the attention of Universal Music Group where he eventually signed a record deal in 2017. Travis just released his new single “After A Few” which he co-wrote with Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver following his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs”. Travis was recently selected as a CMA KixStart Artist Scholarship as well as Opry NextStage recipient and will receive unique opportunities to participate in events as well as connect with industry professionals. The singer/songwriter has previously opened shows for Cole Swindell, Alan Jackson, Chase Rice, LANCO as well as Justin Moore and just launched his first headlining “Heartbeat Of A Small Town” Tour. When Travis is not touring, he is in the studio working on his debut album.

April Fools Day!

Happy April 1st!

According to the History Channel “April Fools’ Day, also called All Fools’ Day, has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures, its exact origins remain a mystery. Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, as called for by the Council of Trent in 1563.People who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the new year had moved to January 1 and continued to celebrate it during the last week of March through April 1 became the butt of jokes and hoaxes.”

I don’t do much pranking on April 1st…. I just randomly prank people all year round 🙂

However, when I was out for lunch today I saw this car!

That’s Helen and Juliana…. I was driving through a parking lot and couldn’t help but notice what they were doing!…. .Had to stop for a pic or 4!…. Happy Pranking!!!!

{Katie’s Baby Blog} Daddy’s Girl

My sweet little Lily has the cutest smile and I love the way she looks at me after I’ve been at work and I finally come home to get her, but…it just doesn’t compare to the way she looks at her Daddy.

I carried that little girl for 9 months. Suffered aches and pain, sleepless nights, and then went through the delivery and recovery– but, when she sees my husband, Tim, she gets a sparkle in her eye and shakes with excitement from head to toe just to get his attention AND I definitely can’t get her to laugh as hard out-loud like he can!

I can’t blame her….I love him too, but what the heck! She doesn’t smile THAT big when she sees me!

Honestly, it makes me so happy to see her with her Daddy. Tim is such a great dad and from day 1, he has been taking care of the both of us.

After having a C-Section, it was hard to recover and take care of a little baby at the same time. Tim was doing everything for us. Cleaning, cooking, changing diapers, feeding the baby when he needed to, and going on little to no sleep, while still going to work everyday.

Now that Lily is 4 months old, he is still just as helpful with her everyday. He’s great about changing her diaper or giving her a bottle and plays with her all of the time.

I’m thinking she is so used to being smothered by me that she gets excited for daddy time 😉

It’s the sweetest thing in the world seeing Tim as a Dad. We are so lucky and It’s a whole new side of him that I get to love and enjoy as Lily grows.

<3 Katie Ryan

P.s. now I know why so many Mom’s say they don’t have as many pictures with their child as their husband’s do… it’s hard not to capture those sweet moments, while you’re watching.

Now, if I can just get him to whip out his phone and take a picture every time Lily and I have a frame-worthy moment!

{Katie’s Kitchen} Quick Crockpot Brisket

Brought to you by Stroup Flooring America.

I am a huge fan of brisket and this was delicious and easy to make! All you need is your brisket (2-4 lbs), one packet of Lipton’s Onion Soup Mix, paprika and garlic and any vegetables you’d like to add.

Turn on your crock pot to low 8 hours. Start by cutting off extra fat on the brisket, then sprinkle paprika all over the brisket; front and back and all sides. Then press in fresh minced garlic all on both sides of the brisket. If you’d like you can brown the brisket in a large skillet then, add to the crock pot. I just added mine to the crock pot.

Sprinkle a packet of Onion Soup Mix on top of the brisket and add 3 cups (4 cups if you add a lot of veggies) of water and 1/2 cup of dry red wine.

Then add your potatoes, carrots and onion all around the brisket.

Cook on low for 8 hours.

Once it’s finished you can either slice it or shred it with a fork. We ate ours like a stew and added peas to the mix.

 Ingredients:

-Brisket 2-4 lbs.

-paprika (sprinkle all over brisket)

-2 garlic cloves

-1 packet of Lipton’s Onion Soup Mix

-3-4 cups of water

-1 yellow onion

-6-8 red-skinned potatoes (or 3 idaho potatoes)

-3-4 carrots chopped

-1/2 cup of red wine or red cooking wine
