Summer is here! We couldn’t wait to get in the pool with Lily and see how she liked it!
Her first pool day was fun, but I think she was a little confused as to why the water was cold! The temperature wasn’t cold to me, but compared to her warm bath…she was not very impressed at first.
We started out dipping her little toes into the water and she gave me a look like “Okay, Mom,that’s a little cold, but i’m cool with it” so, I sat her on the top step and she whined a little, then started splashing around and forgot about the water.
Once I picked her up and took her into the water she clung to me and yelled for a minute before she remembered she could still splash her hands and play in the water. After that, she forgot it wasn’t her warm bath and then decided she loved it!
Then, like a natural little swimmer, she started kicking her legs and smiling and laughing as we swam around with her.
I just bought a cute little “swimmer in training” baby pool float that I can’t wait to try! It has an octopus on the front and a sun shade that goes over the top. Adorable.
So, any free weekend, we will be at the pool this summer with our little fishy!

What’s your go-to song to sing in the shower? Come on, everyone has one. Luke Bryan definitely has one, and when he explains it to Blake Shelton, it makes complete sense. Luke was hanging out with Blake for Blake’s opening of his new live music hall, The Doghouse, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
They interviewed each other for ET Canada, and one of their questions was, “What is the song that you sing in the shower?” While Blake couldn’t remember, Luke without hesitation said, “‘The Star Spangled Banner‘… You can never have enough practice singing ‘The Star Spangled Banner.'” Well put. I absolutely love making these when I know we are having company over. They’re delicious and easy to make a lot at the same time. I also take this recipe to the beach with us, it is an easy lunch that is quick to make for the entire family. Kids and adults both love these!!
…and who doesn’t love anything on Hawaiian rolls?!
Grab a 9×13 pan and a large pack of rolls. Take a bread knife and cut the rolls in half horizontally, place the bottoms in the pan. Place ham on the bread, I normally do 2 slices, then add swiss cheese. The cheese you may have to cut into smaller squares to fit on the sandwiches better. Then, place the tops of the rolls back on the sandwiches.
In a sauce pan on the stove, mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and poppy seeds, Stir until all of the butter is melted then brush over the top of the sandwiches.
Note**They’re even better if you cover and let them sit in the fridge overnight.
Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees and cook for 15 minutes or until the cheese melts. Enjoy!

I’m still sobbing after watching this….just goes to show how genuine of a guy Garth Brooks continues to be. Not only does he spot this kid in the crowd but he wishes him a happy 24th birthday and gives him the guitar right off of his shoulder to keep and cherish forever.
