Essential Superstars with Tranquillity at Fredericktowne Week 4

We went out today with Tranquillity at Fredericktowne to honor the Essential Superstars at Dr. Mark Coyne’s office.  As a team they only had 2 people working in the office everyday and 2 working from home to answer phones and schedule appointments.  Way to go Superstars!

90’s Country Cover Challenge: Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce and Dustin Lynch

Watch Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce and Dustin Lynch sing in the 90s Country Cover Challenge. Russel covered Tim McGraw (ALMOST MADE ME CRY), Carly covered Patty Loveless and Dustin covered the king, George Strait.

90s country sure has made an impression on these guys and it shows. I love hearing new takes on classics. Country music artists are always paying respect to those who came before them and they do it with such pride!

{Katie’s Kitchen} Grilled Sausage, Chicken, Potato Kabobs

Brought to you by Catoctin Mountain Orchard!

It’s National Kabob Day! So I made you these tasty kabobs for grilling on a beautiful summer day 🙂

Super easy, just give yourself some time to let the chicken marinate.

Start out by cutting your chicken into bite sized pieces, and slicing the sausage into coins. Boil a pound of small potatoes for 10 minutes, drain and set aside. Then, cut up one large onion into about 1 1/2 inch pieces and set aside.

Chop your vegetables- I used whatever was in my fridge (Green pepper, white onion, mushrooms)

For the marinade:

In a mixing bowl add Italian Dressing, Mustard, pepper and Mrs. Dash together and pour over chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to marinate.

Then…make your skewers by alternating ingredients!

Grill the kabobs, turning about every 4-5 minutes until chicken is cooked through. About 15 minutes.

Gabby’s Good News: Roux the Dog – Fourth of July Superhero

In Franklin, Tennessee, a dog became a Fourth of July hero, when she alerted her owner about a house fire next door.

The dog, named Roux, alerted her owner, Jeff LeCates, to the neighbor’s house being on fire — a blaze that was started by fireworks.

When Jeff woke up, he was able to wake the family of three next door — and get everyone out safely before firefighters arrived and put the fire out. Everyone escaped without injuries, all thanks to the warning offered by Roux. Way to go DOGGO!

Turns out, Jeff’s neighbor actually helped him adopt Roux and find her forever home with him. She’s a dog groomer, who knew Jeff had lost his German Shepherd 15 months ago. Knowing Roux needed a home, she helped to facilitate the adoption.

{Katie’s Baby Blog} Summer Fun

It’s almost July!!! We’ve been so busy already this summer and I feel like it has just begun!

We’ve been to the beach once and it was fun…kind of…Lily HATED the sand! Like HATED it…she clung to me like a koala bear the entire time we were at the beach. So I’m praying that she is over that before our vacation in July!

Other than that, we have been outside pretty much everyday, playing in the yard and hanging out on the deck eating popsicles, going for walks, and going to my pool at my parent’s house as much as we can!

We also had the best day at the petting farm in Urbana. It was soooo cute and it was a great way to do something fun with the kids (and be socially distant). Lily LOVED petting the animals, especially the sheep and goats, turtles, and “piggies”. She was afraid of the baby chicks, the cows and the horses so we just stayed back and looked at them from a far, but it was really fun.

Oh, and if you can’t tell by that bottom photo…she’s the boss 😉

We love it so much though!!
