Burstonsville, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police have charged a student for possessing a firearm on school property.
On Tuesday, May 21st,at around 10:13 AM, officers responded to Paint Branch High School in the 14100 block of Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville to investigate reports of a student with a gun. A teacher notified a school security officer about a boy with what appeared to be a weapon. .
Officers contacted Derreon Vick, 16, who agreed to a self search. Authorities say a Smith and Wesson handgun was found.
Vick is charged as an adult with possession of a deadly weapon on school property, possession of a handgun, underage possession of a handgun and other offenses. .
He was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
