Suspect is held without bond as detectives investigate possible further incidents.
Loudoun County, VA (JK) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying additional victims connected to the arrest of Vinod Kumar, 56, of South Riding. Kumar was taken into custody on November 7, 2025, and charged with aggravated sexual battery of a minor. He is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation began after deputies were alerted to an incident involving a juvenile in the Amberlea neighborhood on November 2. Authorities say Kumar, who lives in the neighborhood, may have targeted other minors based on his behavior. He has reportedly been referred to by children in the area as the “sus candy man” or “sus candy guy.”
