Lightning Strike Causes House Fire In Montgomery County

Officials say the cause of the fire was a lightning strike.

65 firefighters from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the home in the 19600 block of Westerly Avenue just before midnight.

The fire ignited in the basement laundry room and spread to the exterior of the home.

No injuries were reported, however, the residenst were displaced.

The damage to the home and it’s contents is estimated at $1 million.
