Leesburg, VA (DG) – Leesburg Police have arrested a West Virginia man accused of seriously injuring a juvenile during a basketball game at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center.
Officers say the assault happened around 6:30 Sunday evening, December 28th. Investigators report an adult male struck a juvenile in the face during the game, causing serious injuries. The suspect left before police arrived, and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police later identified 23-year-old Jacob Martin of Hedgesville, West Virginia, as the suspect. Martin turned himself in on December 30th and is charged with malicious wounding. He’s currently being held without bond.
