Frederick Man Re-Indicted On Weapons Offenses

His previous indictment was dismissed by a federal judge.

Baltimore, Md (KM) A new indictment was filed last week against the owner of the Machine Gun Nest in Frederick. Federal prosecutors have charged Robert Krop and Sheriff Chuck Jenkins with conspiracy and making false statements to obtain machine guns. Both men have pleaded not guilty.

Early last month, US District Court Judge Stephanie Gallagher dismissed the indictment without prejudiced against Krop, She agreed with the defendant’s attorney that Krop’s speedy trial rights were violated. The judge told federal prosecutors to come up with a new indictment within three weeks, or drop the case. The new indictment was issued last week.

The indictment against Jenkins remains in place.  His trial date is scheduled for January, 2025.
