Authorities say the victim was driving a dump truck.
Clarksburg, Md (KM) A Frederick man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning near Clarksburg in Montgomery County.
State Police say Rodney Lee Gibson, 54, was operating a dump truck which was involved in the crash with a Ford Transit. Troopers say the dump truck struck a bridge abutment and overturned in a ravine. Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene by fire and rescue personnel. .
There were no other injuries from this crash, troopers say. .
The Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation. Also, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures. HAZMAT units from Montgomery County also responded to the scene.
State Police say the cause of this crash remains under investigation.
