Frederick, Md. (DG) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Frederick man on multiple child pornography charges following an investigation that began with a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Detectives say the tip led them to 31-year-old Ricardo Hernandez-Martinez, after child sexual abuse material was discovered on a social media platform. Investigators executed a search warrant Monday at a home in the 500 block of Logan Street in Frederick, where Hernandez-Martinez was arrested.
Authorities seized several electronic devices as evidence. He’s charged with multiple counts, including distribution and possession of child pornography, as well as soliciting and permitting a child for sexual content.
Hernandez-Martinez was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.
Officials say a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer has been placed on him through ICE’s 287(g) program, meaning he will be turned over to federal authorities once local charges are resolved.
Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
