Walkersville, Md (KM) Frederick County Fire and Rescue crews are searching the Monocacy River for a missing kayaker.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, personnel began their search of the River in the Devilbiss Bridge Road area of Walkersville. The search was expanded to include the areas further away such as Links Bridge Road and Reichs Ford Road. No one was found.
Rescuers did locate a kayak near the Route 26 bridge which was similar to what the Kayaker was using.
Devilbiss Bridge Road is closed for traffic to allow fire and rescue personnel to search for the missing kayaker. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
