Thoughts and Prayers for Loretta Lynn
Country legend Loretta Lynn suffered a stroke Thursday.
According to her Facebook page, the 85-year-old was at her home in Nashville when it happened. The post says she’s under doctors’ care and has to cancel her upcoming concerts, but that she’s expected to make a full recovery.
Loretta, whose album Wouldn’t It Be Great is due out in August, was scheduled to play Durham, North Carolina Friday. She has four more dates on the books this month, and four more in June. (Premiere Prep)
Brave Old Girl Fights Off Alligator
A courageous 10-year-old girl is recovering this morning from an alligator attack over the weekend.
On Saturday the girl was sitting in 2-feet deep water in Orlando’s Lake Moss Park when the nearly 9-foot alligator attacked, biting her in the knee and calf.
To fight off the gator, the girl started poking it in the nose and then pried the gator’s mouth open to remove her leg.
Her father told reporters that she learned that trick at Gatorland, a wildlife preserve in Orlando.
Wildlife officials captured and euthanized the alligator after the attack.
The girl was taken to the hospital and received at least 10 stitches. She is now recovering at home.

GIRL SHOWS OFF HER NEW LEG AT SCHOOL IN SWEET VIDEO
A little girl in Birmingham, England, appears in an adorable viral video that has been drawing happy tears from millions of people around the world.
The seven-year-old, named Anu, has one leg and was out of school for a little while. She recently returned with a brand-new prosthetic sports blade, which would allow her to run and be more active.
The moment she was reunited with her classmates was captured on video and their response was better than anyone could have ever imagined.
Any nerves Anu might have had going to school that day were quickly erased as soon as she was greeted with hugs and cheers. She then took the opportunity to show her friends what she could do with her new leg and ran all around the schoolyard. (People)

Miley Cyrus Has New Friends and a New Way of Life
Are Miley Cyrus‘s wild-child days behind her?
The twerking bad-girl singer reveals that she’s turned over a new leaf. In an interview with Billboard, she says, “I used to [resist changing]. But I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now. That was just something that I wanted to do.”
The 24-year-old says her new circle of friends, including Voice judge Blake Shelton, has helped to clean up. “I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp because I know exactly where I want to be.”
Miley serves as a coach on The Voice.
