TEEN WITHOUT HANDS BECOMES BASKETBALL HERO

For weeks, 13-year-old Jamarion Styles would show up at a community center in Boca Raton, Florida, hoping to play basketball with the other kids. And, week after week, the other kids wouldn’t pick him for their teams. The problem – at least in the eyes of the other kids – was that Jamarion has no hands. He lost them when he was a baby because of a bacterial infection.

Despite being constantly rejected, he never gave up his hoop dreams – and was finally rewarded by earning a spot on his middle school team.

Jamarion outworked everybody, making his way into a game and sinking two clutch shots, becoming the team’s hero.

Now, Jamarion is invited to play with the other kids at the community center and he recently made the volleyball team.

When asked why he doesn’t play soccer – a sport that doesn’t require arms and hands – Jamarion laughs, admitting that he’s just not good at that sport, going so far as to describe himself as “horrible” – which is not a problem as long as he continues to improve his basketball and volleyball skills. Luke Combs, Little Big Town and Shania Twain…

Luke Combs is one of country’s hottest newcomers, with “Hurricane” speeding up the charts. And though he loves his newfound success, he enjoys sharing it with his parents even more.

“My dad is super laid back. Man, he is real cool about it and he tries to act a little bit cooler about it than I think he is. He is definitely super proud and mom is just over the moon, she just can’t contain her excitement. She always says (adding an accent to his voice) ‘I never imagined you’d be a country star’ and all of that stuff. Sorry mom for the fake accent by the way,” said Luke.

Luke’s debut album, This One’s for You, drops on June 2nd.

Take Your Kids To Work Day

Today is take your kids to work day.  A chance for your children to see what mom and dad actually do to earn money!

National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is recognized on the fourth Thursday in April each year.

This day is viewed as an educational program in the United States and Canada where parents take their children to work with them for one day.

Employers are also encouraged to invite employees to bring their children to work.  Many companies have events planned for the children and their working parents today.

This is the first time in 16 years that I do not have one of my kids with me at work.  I miss those days and hope parents who have their children with them at work today enjoy every single minute.  Time goes by fast!

Today’s Good News!! Lets Salsa….

SALSA COP SURPRISES DANCING TEENS

A police officer in San Antonio recently responded to a noise complaint, but instead of making a bust … he busted a move.

Someone called police to complain about loud music coming from a nearby gathering. When the officer responded, he discovered that the noise was coming from a children’s dance club where kids were having an innocent dance-off.

The officer, who has not been named, could have shut it down and spoiled the event for the kids. But instead, he decided to show them all how it’s done.

He asked someone to put on his song and then salsa danced. His moves drew cheers, especially when he grabbed one of the kids to dance with.

The kid’s mother said, “As a parent, especially these days, there is a lot of negativity in the world when it comes to cops, and he broke that stereotype.” Video of the salsa cop has gone viral on social media. (ABC News)
