Good News: Bride Signs at Wedding

Brides have been walking down the aisle forever, but never has there been an entrance quite as sweet and touching as this one from an Australian bride named Liz Shoesmith.

Liz recently married her husband, Scott, who is deaf, and had a big surprise for him at their ceremony.

Rather than just walking down the aisle to a song that Scott wouldn’t be able to hear, Liz learned how to sign every lyric to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” Then, as she stepped into the aisle, she stopped and signed the entire song for Scott.

Liz said, “Even though Scott is deaf, I have never felt more heard in my life. For every joy he has brought into my life over the last two years, I wanted to surprise him with my entrance.” She added, “The moment I locked eyes with him I never looked away and it was a special moment just between the two of us. He held it together for a few seconds before crying the whole way through the song.”

The magical moment was captured on video, which has since gone viral. (People)

GO BIRDS!

{Katie’s Kitchen} Super Bowl– Buffalo Chicken Meatballs!

HERE WE GO! Heading into Superbowl weekend…are you hosting or heading to a friends house this Sunday? Bring these and you’ll be the hit of the party!

My husband Tim and I had fun making these and then….eating them all for dinner 😉

This recipe will make about 30 meatballs….and they are easy to eat! I would definitely double for a party.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Start out with a big mixing bowl, put in ground chicken (1lb), 1 cup of bread crumbs, 1 clove minced garlic, 5-6 green onions finely chopped, 1 tsp. celery salt, 1/2 tsp. onion powder, 1 large egg, 1 packet of ranch dressing mix, 1 tablespoon of buffalo wing sauce and salt and pepper to taste. Mix it all up really good!

Roll the mix into 1 tablespoon balls and place on a baking sheet on parchment paper. Then, place into the oven for 15 minutes.

Take them out of the oven and pour a 1/2 cup of buffalo wing sauce into a bowl and toss with the chicken balls. Place them back on the baking pan and put back into the oven for another 10 mins.

Take them out, arrange on a fun plate with toothpicks and drizzle with blue cheese or ranch and they’re ready to eat!

INGREDIENTS: I got the recipe here!

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup panko crumbs (or dry bread crumbs)
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (divided)
  • 5-6 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (or flakes)
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping (or drizzle)
