(pick your own apples this weekend Sat. Sept 8 & 9th at Catoctin Mountain Orchard)
How can something so easy be SO delicious?! These Apple Pie Bites are the perfect dessert or treat to bring to a friends dinner party.
30 minutes tops and these are ready! These are made with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Start by pre-heating your oven to 375 degrees and lining a baking pan with parchment paper. Then unroll your crescent roll triangles onto the pan and separate the triangles.
In a small bowl combine the brown sugar and apple pie spice together. I made mine a little differently…I couldn’t find apple pie spice, so I made my own by using a half tablespoon of nutmeg, half tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of all spice. I took pinches of brown sugar and coated the triangles, then sprinkles the “apple pie seasoning” that I made over top of it. Press a few (or as many as you like) chopped pecans into the triangle.
Next, cut your Granny Smith apple into thin slices. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and dip your apples in the melted butter before laying them each on the wide end of your triangles.
Then, roll them up! Wrap crescent roll dough around each apple. You can use the remaining butter to brush onto the outside of the rolls and then sprinkle with a little apple pie spice on top.
Place them in the heated oven and cook for 10-12 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.
YUM!!!

About Pegasus Equine Services
Providing Equine Dentistry to all farms throughout Virginia & the surrounding states. Registered & Certified in Virginia.
Proper dental care is essential to your horse’s health – it will ensure your horse is more comfortable, utilities feed more efficiently, performs better and may well live longer.
Malocclusions – improper position and contact between teeth – lead to inefficient chewing, bit discomfort, excessive wear and premature loss of teeth. Many horses show no symptoms of dental problems until it is too late.
Horses experiencing oral pain will not be able to perform to the best of their abilities.
Complete oral examinations every six to twelve months and regular preventative dental care allow horses to live a healthier, more comfortable life and to perform better.
If your horse has not had a check-up in the past 12 months, it is time for one now.
A thorough check-up involves using a speculum, looking in the mouth with a good headlamp, and feeling the teeth and gums. Anything less than such a thorough examination could result in a serious dental condition going unnoticed and untreated.
MY HORSE SERIES
Since 2008, fans of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball team have been entertained at home games by the team dog, Deuce, who hung out in the Pro Shop, delivered fresh baseballs to the umpire and circled the bases after each win.
Well, Deuce retired last week – and the team celebrated his retirement by letting him run those bases one more time.
Fans in the stands cheered as Deuce collected treats placed on each of the bases – and then sent him off with a big ovation when he crossed home plate.
While it was bittersweet to see Deuce ending his long career, the fans and the team were also thankful and appreciative for all the smiles Deuce delivered through the years. (For The Win)
Since 2008, Deuce has greeted fans in the Pro Shop, run the umpires fresh baseballs, and circled the bases after each Bird's win. Tonight, after 10 years, we celebrate the best known dog in Myrtle Beach and wish this very good boy a happy retirement.
Thank you, Deuce. pic.twitter.com/fiBKxvr3yR— Myrtle Beach Pelicans (@Pelicanbaseball) August 30, 2018

If you know me, you knew the answer to this question. “Where is Brian Mo’s favorite place to vacation”….. Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge!….. A Cabin in the Middle of the woods…. Hot Tub…. Good food…. Mini Golf…. Dollywood…. Enough things to do and the ability to do nothing at all, ya know, unplug!
After this past week, that answer has changed! I will still go back to Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge, but this cruise blew that out of the water! (pun intended)
We took the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore. Neil MacMillian was our Cruise Director and there were so many things to do!
From my favorites, karaoke, shows and trivia, to a bunch of Bingo, a night club, spa, casino and more! They even had stuff for teenagers to do, including at scavenger hunt in which they had to find someone to smash an ice cream cone in their face…. So you know I had to oblige!
The Fun Squad! Shout Outs to Bendy Blake, Red, Frantastic and Steph!…. They host all of the events on board and kept everyone very entertained!
Of course I was at most of the karaoke shows, to the point where people would stop me on the ship and say “Hey, aren’t you the karaoke guy!”
They had all kinds of contests! Like the hairy chest contests, HASBRO the Game Show, a CLUE murder mystery, Lip Sync Battle and Gender Showdown! (Guess who was the men’s team captain!)
They had a “Groovin for St Jude” party on one of the decks!…. You know I got my T-shirt to help out the kids!
The shows were great too! Playlist Productions does a great job! My 2 favs were 88 Keys, a piano based show and 80’s pop!
There were comedy shows from 4 different comedians…. John Mulrooney and Reno Collier the 1st half of the cruise and Brian Bradley and Tim Cavanaugh the 2nd half. All of the comedy shows had a Family Show and then an 18+ show later on in the night and they were all really funny!
There was a shopping area with a gift shop, jewelry store, candy store and more. Plus, an art gallery too!
THE FOOD!!!!!!
All of this and I’m just now getting to the part where we stopped an some of the most beautiful places in the world!
Grand Turk
Half Moon Cay (My new favorite place on earth)
Freeport
I found a video someone posted on YouTube a few years ago of our exact room.
So if you’re thinking about going on a cruise…. Don’t think…. Just book it!
