Taylor Swift: 30 lessons before turning 30

This entire article is incredibly written and raw. However, I left feeling the most inspired when she said, “Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed and the faith I have in humanity. Check it out for yourself here:

GOOD NEWS: NURSE ADOPTS BABY SHE CARED FOR IN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Two years ago, a baby named Blaze was born with a rare heart defect and spent the first months of his life in an intensive care unit of a children’s hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

While Blaze was there, Angela Farnan was one of the nurses who cared for him.

It was a tricky situation because the parents didn’t live near the hospital and didn’t have the resources to care for the baby.

At that time, Angela stepped up and agreed to assume short-term guardianship while Blaze was in the hospital.

As the months passed, Blaze grew stronger and stronger – and was finally able to go home. Angela was sad to see the little boy go.

Then, in March 2018, Blaze’s biological parents reached out to Angela and asked if she and her husband, Rick, would adopt Blaze. They agreed without hesitation.

While it was difficult to give up her son, the mother realized it was the best thing to do for Blaze.

And, Angela and Rick are thrilled to have Blaze in their life. They describe him as full of life, with a smile that lights up the room. (WFMY-TV)

I Staycationed

I’m back!  Well to be fair I never really went anywhere.  But I am back on the Free Country Free Ride this week!  This week off was more about getting my house in order, cleaning and actually enjoying a minute on the couch.  Here are some highlights of my week off!

-Saw Brothers Osborne at The Anthem in DC — GREAT SHOW! and Great place to see a show!!!

-I watched all day coverage of the NHL Trade Deadline—- don’t worry nothing crazy for my Pens 🙂

-I completely cleaned my basement— Now you’re jealous!

-Parker and Dulcie got groomed!

-Saw Aaron Watson at the 930 Club in DC—Dude puts on an amazing live show!

-Got to pick up Sidney from school–  Doing the afternoon show I never get to pick up my kids from school and daycare.  It was my favorite part of the week!

-Watched the Masked Singer Finale with Melissa and my kids— We loved watching the show as a family.

Overall I had a good week off.  I relaxed, got some stuff done and am ready to get back to work with my partner in crime
