Summer Concert Series

Ahzay is a Hip-Hop artist that was born and raised in Frederick, MD.  He went to the University of Rochester where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, but also gained a love for the arts. In the cold of upstate New York, Ahzay hosted a radio show, acted in several stage productions and was an emcee for many events. In 2014, he released his first album entitled “The Routine” which set the stage for headlining several Hip Hop shows and opening for touring artists of all genres including Young the Giant and Chris Webby. Baked into the last 10 years, Ahzay has released multiple full-length albums. In 2017 he released the album “Gold Sodium” (review here). He followed that up with the 2018 sequel “Gold Sodium Vol. 2” in 2018 (review here).  Most recently released was the album entitled “At Some Point You Mature” in 2023 which includes a collaboration with Billboard charting artist Alonda Rich (review here). Fusing elements of Hip-Hop, Rhythm and Blues, Neo-Soul, Afrobeat’s and Jazz, Ahzay aims to create a unique sonic experience with every performance.  Ahzay will be joined by Calvin Little Jr. (vocalist), James Sims (keys) and Joe McCargo Jr. (drums). They are all respected musicians throughout the DMV music scene for their talents.
