Attorneys accuse prosecutors of mishandling investigation.

Westminster, MD (JK) – Wendy Osefo, star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, and her husband, Eddie, are challenging allegations that they staged a burglary to commit $400,000 in insurance fraud in Carroll County.
In a statement from their legal team, which includes attorneys Jeremy Eldridge, Clarissa Lindsey, and Joseph Murtha, the Osefos accuse prosecutors of misleading the public about their finances and conducting a biased investigation.
The attorneys claim police failed to properly investigate the original break-in and provided no updates to the family for more than 18 months, despite their full cooperation. They also criticized the public disclosure of the couple’s confidential financial information and said investigators appeared to be influenced by the Osefos’ status as reality TV stars.
The statement also refutes allegations that the couple used aliases on financial applications, explaining any alternate names were used solely for package deliveries to protect their identities. The legal team says the state began its investigation only after charges were filed, calling the approach “highly irregular,” and insists the Osefos are confident a fair trial will uphold their rights.
