Man Charged In Germantown Homicide

One other man with him is charged with firearms offenses.

Germantown, Md (KM) Charges have been filed in connection with a shooting in Germantown last weekend.

Montgomery County Police say an officer on patrol in the area of Germantown Road and Middlebrook Road late Saturday night heard gunshots coming from the Germantown Square Urban Park.

Upon arriving at the scene, Montgomery  County’  Police and officers from the Maryland National Park Police, as well as fire and rescue, located Kendall Butler, 34, of Germantown with multiple gunshot wounds.  Despite lifesaving efforts, Butler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say they noticed three men leaving the area after the  shooting. . They were taken  to the 5th District Police station for questioning. . .

Michael Aaron Lynn, 39, of Germantown has been charged with 1st-degree murder and firearms-related offenses. A second man identified as Kent Williams, Jr, 61, who has no fixed address, is charged with firearms-related offenses. The two men had firearms in their possession when they were stopped by police.

Lynn and Williams are being held without bond.

The third man was released following questioning by police.
