O’Connor Leads In Mayoral Race In The City Of Frederick Election

Democrats  also lead in two Council member races.

Frederick, Md (KM) The results from Tuesday’s General Election and early voting in the City of Frederick show incumbent Democrat Michael O’Connor in the lead for Mayor with more than 1,470 votes. Republican Tom Trott who  comes in with 964 votes.

In the City Council race, Democrat Scott Lasher is out in front with 412 votes over Republican Joe Atkins in District Four who won 310 votes..

For District Five, it’s Democrat Sarah Hempel Irani in the lead with 328 votes over Republican Rob Callahan who has 245 votes. .

The candidates running in Districts One, Two and Three as well as the two at-large seats  are unopposed. .

Canvassing of mail-in and drop box ballots begins on Thursday, November sixth and will continue until all ballots are counted.

The election is expected to be certified on November 12th.

The Mayor and Council members will be sworn into office on December 11th.
