New Manufacturing Center Coming To Frederick

It will create 125 new, full time, permanent jobs by 2028.

Frederick, Md (KM) A new manufacturing center is expected to open in Frederick.   Bakery de France already has a facility in the 8400 block of Bakery Way off of Monocacy Boulevard in the Riverside Corporate Park, and is planning to open a 175,000-square-foot- center which is expected to add 125 new, permanent full time jobs by 2028.

Governor Wes Moore made that announcement in a news release from his office. “Bakery de France’s expansion in Frederick creates  a unique link between past and future—-an old-world bakery using its skill and artistry to support an exciting new investment and create new jobs,” the Governor said. “We thank Bakery de France for choosing Maryland once again, and look forward to the company’s future success and growth.”

Bakery de France’s headquarters are located in Rockville.

The Governor’s Office says the Maryland Department of Commerce is working to get the company a $700,000 conditional loan for the project, and Frederick County is also providing some incentives.

Bakery de France provides all natural, sustainably made artisan bread to retailers and restaurants across the country.

“Frederick is thrilled when top employers like Bakery de France continue to invest in new facilities, production lines and jobs here in our community. We look forward to helping the company meet their construction time-lines so they can open the new facility on-time and increase production of their high quality baked goods,:” says Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor, in a statement. “The City of Frederick is one of the top jobs growth cities in the Mid-Atlantic due to our location, workforce and business climate.”

Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater had similar comments. “Bakery de France’s decision to expand in Frederick County underscores the vitality of our local economy, and the dynamic opportunities our region offers,” she said, in a statement. “We are excited to support Bakery de France in its journey and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community.”
