Sadly, one of the police officers killed over the weekend, has ties to the local community.
Officer Matthew Baxter, 27. who graduated from Jefferson High School in 2009, was shot and killed Friday night in Kissimmee, Florida.
Sgt. Sam Howard, 36, was also shot and died Saturday at a hospital from his injuries.
Officer Baxter had been with the Kissimmee Police Department for three years. He was married to a fellow police officer and they have four children.
