Today is a special day for Coca-Cola! On March 29, 1886, Atlanta pharmacist Dr. John S. Pemberton created Coke.
Dr. Pemberton created a soft drink to be served at sold at soda fountains. He developed a flavored syrup, and it was mixed with carbonated water. Many people loved it!
On May 8, 1886, Dr. Pemberton sold the first Coke at Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia for 5-cents.
Today – Coke products are everywhere, and 1.9 billion Coca-Cola drinks are consumed daily!
