Hi, I’m Drew — your nightly dose of country music, sports talk, and a little chaos on 99.9 WFRE.

I grew up in Burtonsville in Montgomery County before moving to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I eventually made my way back to the DMV to attend George Mason University in Fairfax, where I majored in Communications with a focus on Media Production. The dream at the time? Becoming a sports radio host.

While at Mason I joined the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, which is also where my love of country music really started.

My first job out of college was in Virginia Beach with Max Media on 97.3 The Eagle, where I got my start on the air at one of the area’s top country stations. I later returned to the DMV to work at 98.7 WMZQ in Rockville before getting the chance to live out my original dream — working in sports radio at SiriusXM in Washington, D.C., where I helped launch the world’s first 24/7 Fantasy Sports Radio channel in 2010.

Yes… I’ve been playing fantasy sports since 1998, so caring way too much about fake teams is kind of my thing.

In March 2023 I was laid off during company downsizing, so I took a shot and emailed Andy Webb at WFRE to see if he needed any on-air help. As luck would have it, the station needed a night host — and just like that, here we are.

I’ve lived all over the DMV, including Prince George’s, Montgomery, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington counties, but Frederick County has been home since 2017.

My wife Katie and I got married in 2015 after meeting through online dating before the apps took over the world. I’m a lifelong Washington football fan and she’s an Eagles fan, which somehow still works.

Our son Mason was born in July 2017 and he’s my whole world. Mason is autistic, which makes Autism Awareness incredibly important to our family.

We also have two dogs at home — Jamey, a senior Golden Retriever/Chow mix, and Major, an 80-plus-pound lovable mystery mix.

When I’m not on the air, you’ll probably find me watching a D.C. sports team (maybe one I’ve wagered on), playing bad golf, hanging with the dogs, or out at local family events.
