Drew Phelps is your nightly dose of country, chaos, and conversation on 99.9 WFRE!

His radio journey started at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA—where he fell hard for country music (and maybe just a little bit for fraternity life as a Kappa Alpha). After college, he kicked off his career at Max Media in Virginia Beach, hitting the airwaves on 97.3 The Eagle. From there, he headed back north to 98.7 WMZQ in Rockville, before taking a wild turn to help launch SiriusXM’s all-Fantasy Sports Radio channel in 2010. Yup, Drew’s been deep in the fantasy football trenches… and lived to tell the tale.

After 12 years away, country music came calling—and Drew came running to WFRE, where he’s been happily spinning the hits and cracking the mic ever since.

He’s a DMV native who’s lived everywhere from Prince George’s to Loudoun, and now proudly calls Frederick County home with his awesome wife Katie, their son Mason, and their two dogs: Jamey (a sweet senior Golden/Chow mix) and Major (an 80-pound hound with zero chill).

When he’s not on the air, Drew’s probably yelling at a DC sports team, hacking up a golf course, or chasing his kid around one of Frederick’s many parks.
