{Katie’s Kitchen} Apple Pie Bites

Brought to you by Catoctin Mountain Orchard

(pick your own apples this weekend Sat. Sept 8 & 9th at Catoctin Mountain Orchard)

How can something so easy be SO delicious?! These Apple Pie Bites are the perfect dessert or treat to bring to a friends dinner party.

30 minutes tops and these are ready! These are made with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Start by pre-heating your oven to 375 degrees and lining a baking pan with parchment paper. Then unroll your crescent roll triangles onto the pan and separate the triangles.

In a small bowl combine the brown sugar and apple pie spice together. I made mine a little differently…I couldn’t find apple pie spice, so I made my own by using a half tablespoon of nutmeg, half tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of all spice. I took pinches of brown sugar and coated the triangles, then sprinkles the “apple pie seasoning” that I made over top of it. Press a few (or as many as you like) chopped pecans into the triangle.

Next, cut your Granny Smith apple into thin slices. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and dip your apples in the melted butter before laying them each on the wide end of your triangles.

Then, roll them up! Wrap crescent roll dough around each apple. You can use the remaining butter to brush onto the outside of the rolls and then sprinkle with a little apple pie spice on top.

Place them in the heated oven and cook for 10-12 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.

YUM!!!
