
A well-known Frederick restaurant was left heavily damaged after an early morning fire Tuesday
Frederick, Md. (DG) – Fire crews battled a major blaze that severely damaged a longtime Frederick landmark early Tuesday morning. According to the Frederick County Fire and Rescue Division, firefighters were called to the Red Horse Restaurant in the 900 block of West Patrick Street around 2:50 a.m.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from the building and quickly went inside to locate the fire. A short time later, flames broke through the roof, prompting a second alarm and bringing additional units to the scene.
The fire was brought under control by about 4:30 a.m. No civilians were hurt, but one firefighter was taken to Frederick Health Hospital and later released. The cause remains under investigation, and damage to the building is estimated to be $1,000,000.
