National Park Service Seeking Tips On Two Assaults Occurring On C&O National Historical Park

The suspect in both cases is believed to be the same person.

WIlliamsport, Md (KM) The National Park Service is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual as part of an ongoing investigation into two assaults at the C&O Canal National Historical Park.

In a case on Sunday,  March 10th, just before 12:30 PM,, the Park Service, Maryland Natural Resources Police and the Maryland State Police responded to a report of a man suspected of chasing a woman along the towpath near the Nolands  Ferry Parking area. The incident occurred about one mile upstream from Nolands Ferry Parking area toward the Point of Rocks Parking  area.

A similar incident occurred on Wednesday, March 6th along the C&O Canal Towpath near Point of Rocks.

The suspect is described is a white male, 6 feet to 6-feet-1 in height. with a red or strawberry blond beard. He may have been driving a gray, four-door sedan, possible  a Honda Accord.  He was wearing a stocking style cap, “Carhart-like” jacket, and blue jeans.
