Adult Male Arrested in Connection to 13th Street Homicide

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 33-year-old Jeriel Demitri Martin with the homicide of 34-year-old Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer, of Washington D.C.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified J. Martin as the suspect who shot and killed J. Jenifer in an alley located in the 8000 block of 13th Street in Silver Spring on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant against J. Martin, charging him with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime.

On Friday, September 6, a search and seizure warrant was executed at J. Martin’s residence in Silver Spring, where J. Martin was arrested and items of evidentiary value connecting him to J. Jenifer’s homicide were recovered.

J. Martin, of Silver Spring, was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
