Sadly, two U.S. Navy sailors missing from the USS John McCain are from Maryland.
On Thursday the Navy reported Kevin Sayer Bushell and Timothy Thomas Eckels Jr. were among the missing sailors aboard the USS McCain.
Bushell, 26, is an electronics technician 2nd Class. He graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 2009.
Eckels, 23, is an information systems technician 2nd Class. He graduated from Manchester Valley High School in 2012.
On Monday the destroyer collided with an oil tanker near Singapore.
The Navy on Thursday called off the search at sea for the missing sailors, but said divers will continue to search flooded compartments inside the USS John S. McCain.
