FOX Orders Singing Competition Show to Replace Idol Called The Four

Less than a year and a half after the final episode of American Idol on FOX, the network has ordered a new singing competition series to replace it.

It’s called The Four and is based on a format first developed on an Israeli show, in which the final four contestants are determined by industry experts the first week. Over the course of what has been speculated to be a four-to-eight-episode season, those singers’ spots are challenged by others who can take their place if they win a head-to-head vocal battle.

No talent has been hired yet and there is no starting airdate for the show. (Variety)
