Milk, Bread, Toilet Paper – Snow is In The Forecast!

The National Weather Service say we could be receiving up to 2 inches of snow by Friday morning.  It’s this type of forecast that sends people to grocery stores to stock up on the essentials like milk, bread, and toilet paper.

Why do we flee to grocery stores to get these three items.  According to Accuweather.com, New Englanders can take credit for the tradition of purchasing of milk and break prior to a storm.  “It was the monumental blizzard in 1978 that trapped many in homes for weeks that gets at least some credit for the current tradition,” the site reported.

Are we over reacting or just being extra cautious?

The Maryland State Highway Administration has their trucks out in full force pre-treating local roads with liquid salt brine.  This is to prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement.

Does all this pre-storm hype send you fleeing to the store in fear of running ‘out’ essentials? Or do you laugh in the face of mother nature and say ‘bring it on’?
