WOW....It has finally hit me that my "baby" son will be getting married in less than 3 weeks.
I've always believed in the philosophy that we live our lives in chapters. Every chapter is new and sometimes exciting and sometimes a little sad. I realized that (as most moms do) when we send our children off for their very first day of school. It was definitely with a heavy heart but the natural progression and all moms share in that same experience.
We spend the next thirteen years driving them to and from practices, cheering them on at their games, helping them with their homework, teaching them right from wrong, hoping they choose good friends to make happy memories with, mending broken hearts, teaching them to drive and then endless days and nights of worry....they graduate from high school and you prepare yourself for the next chapter....
We drop them off at college with sadness once again in our hearts. Only soon to realize they're back home for a fall break, then again at Thanksgiving. The Christmas break is a month of craziness. (But we wouldn't trade it for the world) They're soon home again for spring break and before you know it, back home for summer....with a schedule like this, those four years go by so FAST!!!
As they grow and find their place in this world, as a mom you wish them health, you wish them happiness and you can only hope that when they find someone to share their life with....that person can love them as much as you do.
Davey and Autumn started off as friends, became good friends and always knew there was something special about their relationship. It wasn't until they were in college that they realized they belonged together. Their love story is amazing....
They have so much respect for one another, they're compassionate towards one another...they communicate and they compromise!!!! They will become husband and wife on July 13th.....here's to many years of happiness. (And eventually grandchildren...LOL)
Take a deep breath! You got this Holly McCall...just another chapter in your very blessed life. (Big Smile)
