- Brad Paisley will extend his Beat This Summer Tour through November. Presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, 12 additional dates will feature Chris Young and Lee Brice through October, and Young and Danielle Bradbery in November. More here.
- Dwight Yoakam won Artist Of The Year at the 2013 Americana Music Honors & Awards Wednesday (9/18). Due to his tour schedule, he was unable to accept the award in person during the ceremony at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
- The Dixie Chicks will perform during a tribute to Carole King when she's honored as 2014 MusicCares Person Of The Year. The ceremony will be held Jan. 24 during Grammy Week in Los Angeles.

Alan Jackson The Bluegrass Album (ACR/EMI Nashville)
Jackson wrote eight of 14 tracks and says, "It's not that different from what I normally do." He started thinking about a bluegrass album in the mid-'90s, but with the success of O Brother Where Art Thou? he admits, "I didn't want to seem like I was jumping on the bandwagon." Produced by Adam Wright and Keith Stegall, Jackson says releasing the album now, "seemed like the right time in my life, in my head … in everything."
