{Katie’s Kitchen} A Sweet Treat…Affogato

Brought to you by Catoctin Mountain Orchard!

Easy and fun to make! If you like ice cream and coffee…then this is the perfect Italian dessert.

Its tasty, looks fancy when you put it in a cute glass and only really takes 2 ingredients to make! Coffee and ice cream, but of course, we love to add delicious toppings, too!

Making this dessert, I learned that Affogato means “drowned” in Italian and it is essentially drowning ice cream in coffee.

If you don’t have espresso on hand…like most of us. You can use hot brewed coffee.

Scoop out your ice cream- I used french vanilla, drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup (or both like I did) and then sprinkle chocolate shavings on top! Or add walnuts, cocoa powder, anything you’d like! Then slowly pour your shot of espresso or coffee over top.

You’ll love the foamy froth on top and the rest is just as delicious!
